The different names of Junköfiskarna’s Kalix Löjrom signals when – during the fishing period – the roe was harvested from the sea. They are all of the same high quality, and complete each other in details such as taste and texture. Aside from Kalix Löjrom, Junköfiskarna is involved in various tasks and products – such as smoking, Whitefish Roe, Wild Salmon and Vendace (Siklöja).

Primum Kalix Löjrom

From the first days of fishing. The roe grains are small with a solid texture. The aroma is clean with a light ocean nuance. The taste is fresh, with a very clear mineral presence.

Classic Kalix Löjrom

From the peak of harvest in the midst of fishing. The aroma is pure, with a subtle ocean flavor. The taste has a clear minerality, fresh and full. The grains are solid and melt on the palate.

Matura Kalix Löjrom

From the final days of fishing. Now the roe has matured and the large grain are thin and melt in the mouth. The aroma is pure, with a clear presence of ocean. The taste is rich, with a fine minerality.

Junkö Sikrom

Just like the vendace roe/bleak roe, the whitefish roe from the northwestern Baltic Sea has a fresh aroma and taste with a clear mineral presence. The grains are a bit lighter and larger than the vendace roe.

Kalix Siklöja

The world’s smallest salmon, and a perfect food fish. Can be served raw, fried in a Japanese manner, or pickled like a classic herring dish. The bones are so small and tender that it can be smoked and served whole.

Sik (Whitefish)

Whitefish is another salmon fish which lives along the coast of the Baltic Sea. It is also the regional fish of Ångermanland, and a popular food fish among both professional and hobby fishermen.

Junkö Wild Salmon

The wild salmon travels long distances and develops a more solid and light meat than farmed salmon. Junköfiskarna catches from controlled, sustainable populations according to set quotas. During summer, it can be delivered fresh, and for the rest of the year frozen and smoked. We also catch Trout, a small salmon fish, which is a little more red in the meat.

Smoked fish

We salt and smoke in classic cots according to old northern traditions. Our most unique product is cold smoked wild salmon (7 kilos and upwards). The fish has a very solid texture and pure taste. We sell hot smoked wild salmon and whitefish locally, but also by order.
